A 31-year-old Orlando woman was killed by an alligator while swimming in the Econlockhatchee River, one of three recent Florida alligator attacks. Wildlife officials warned that alligators are present in all 67 counties and urged caution near waterways.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident, and it is unclear what provoked the attack or if the alligator will be removed from the area.
Charlotte FC defender Anton Walkes has tragically died at the age of 25 following a boating accident in Miami. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is still investigating the incident, and Charlotte FC has expressed their heartbreak at the loss of an "outstanding human being". Walkes had been with Charlotte FC since 2019 and had made 16 appearances for the club.
