Dallas Zoo Investigates “Unusual” Death of Endangered Vulture, Increases Security Measures

The Dallas Zoo is investigating the death of an endangered vulture, which is the latest in a string of incidents involving animals and enclosures. Gregg Hudson, President and CEO of the zoo, revealed that the vulture was found dead with an intentional injury and the zoo is increasing security camera coverage and working with the Dallas Police Department to increase security. They are also offering a reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the responsible person or persons.

Missing Clouded Leopard Nova Found Safe After Daylong Search at Dallas Zoo

Dallas Zoo officials announced Friday that Nova, a missing clouded leopard, was found safe after a daylong search near her original habitat. Police have opened a criminal investigation after evidence was found that the fence of the small cat’s habitat had been “intentionally” cut. Zoo officials are continuing to investigate the incident and are asking anyone with information to contact the Dallas Police Department.

Dallas Zoo Closes After Clouded Leopard Escapes Habitat

On Friday, the Dallas Zoo announced that a clouded leopard had escaped its habitat, prompting the closure of the zoo. The Dallas Police Department is assisting in the search for the animal, which is believed to still be on the grounds. The public is asked to remain vigilant and report any sightings, but not to approach the animal. The zoo is working closely with the police to ensure the safe return of the clouded leopard.
