Tragedy at UNLV: Three Dead and One Injured After Gunman Opens Fire, 22 Letters Sent to “Various University Personnel

On Wednesday, a gunman opened fire at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, killing two professors and injuring another. On Thursday, Sheriff Kevin McMahill revealed that the suspect had mailed letters to 22 people across the country before the attack, and authorities were able to intercept all of them. The motive behind the attack is still unknown, and authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.

49 Years Later, Remains of Nevada Man Who Drowned in Lake Mead Identified by Coroner’s Office

A diver found a human bone near the shore of Lake Mead in October, prompting a search by a park dive team that uncovered more. DNA analysis was used to identify the remains as belonging to Donald Smith, a Las Vegas resident who reportedly drowned in April 1974. The Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner confirmed the remains and ruled the death an accident, providing closure to Smith's family and friends after nearly five decades.
