The Air Force has suspended two commanders of the 102nd Intelligence Wing in Massachusetts in connection with the investigation of a suspected leaker, Jack Teixeira. The US Department of Justice has reached an agreement in principle to settle a lawsuit over the 2017 mass shooting at a Sutherland Springs, Texas church, providing victims and their families with more than $144 million from the US Treasury’s Judgment Fund. The settlement, which does not require congressional approval, is subject to approval by the US District Court for the Western District of Texas and would be the largest ever paid out of the Judgment Fund and the largest settlement ever paid in a mass shooting case.

US Air Force Relieves Commanders and Subordinates at North Dakota Nuclear Base After Failed Safety Inspection

The US Air Force has relieved two commanders and four of their subordinates at a nuclear base in North Dakota after their units failed a safety inspection. The inspection was designed to ensure the safety and security of the nuclear weapons stockpile, and some of the vehicles and equipment that failed had not been brought into compliance with regulations. The Air Force has a zero-tolerance policy for any failure to meet the standards of the inspection process, and will continue to ensure that all of its personnel and equipment meet the highest standards of safety and security.

The mystery of the massive white orb that was shot down by the U.S. Air Force over the Atlantic on live television Saturday has been solved - it was a Chinese civilian unmanned airship used mainly for meteorological research. China has expressed its disapproval of the U.S. action, describing it as an “overreaction” and “serious violation of international practice”, raising questions about the safety of civilian airships and the potential for similar incidents in the future.
