Jimmy Kimmel and Molly McNearney to Return for Fourth and Final Time as Host and Executive Producer of the Oscars

Jimmy Kimmel will return as host of the Oscars for the fourth time, with his wife Molly McNearney returning for a second consecutive year as executive producer. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences expressed their excitement for Kimmel and McNearney's return, and Kimmel said he was thrilled to be hosting the show for the fourth and most likely final time. McNearney also expressed her excitement to be working with Kimmel again. The Oscars will take place on March 12, 2023 in Hollywood, California.

Academy and Museum to Gift Replacement Oscar Statuette to Howard University in Honor of Hattie McDaniel’s Legacy

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures have announced they will be gifting a replacement of Hattie McDaniel's historic best supporting actress Oscar to Howard University in Washington, D.C. to honor her legacy. The original award went missing from Howard University’s collection, so the Academy and the Museum have decided to replace it with a statuette to serve as a reminder of her legacy and the power of representation in the motion picture industry. The replacement Oscar statuette will be presented to Howard University in the near future.

Stephanie Hsu to Perform Academy Award-Nominated Song “This Is a Life” at Upcoming Academy Awards Show

Stephanie Hsu is set to perform the Academy Award-nominated song “This Is a Life” from A24’s hit film “Everything Everywhere All at Once” at the upcoming Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards show. She will be joined by the music trio Son Lux and Talking Heads lead singer David Byrne, who wrote the song with Ryan Lott. The movie has earned 11 Oscar nominations and Stephanie's performance is sure to be a highlight of the evening.

95th Academy Awards Nominations Announced, with ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ Leading the Pack

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced its list of nominees for the upcoming 95th Oscars on Tuesday, with “Everything Everywhere All At Once” leading the pack with 11 nominations. Previous Oscar winner Riz Ahmed and star of the Oscar-winning film “Get Out” Allison Williams, announced this year’s contenders during a live broadcast Tuesday morning. Jamie Lee Curtis and Stephanie Hsu were both nominated for best actress in a supporting role, however the Academy failed to nominate a single woman for best director. The 2023 awards season continues with Tuesday’s 95th Academy Awards nominees rollout, with the ceremony set to take place on April 25th.
