Canadian Coast Guard Discovers Debris from the Titan Submersible Near the Wreck of the Titanic

On June 28th, 2023, the Canadian Coast Guard welcomed the Horizon Arctic, a ship carrying a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) that had been searching for the Titan submersible near the wreck of the Titanic. The ROV had discovered debris from the sub about 1,600 feet from the bow of the Titanic at the bottom of the Atlantic, consistent with a catastrophic implosion of the vessel. The Canadian Coast Guard is continuing to investigate the cause of the implosion and the fate of the five people on board the Titan submersible.

USVI Police Department Launches Investigation into Death of Former Competitive Swimmer Jamie Cail

The U.S. Virgin Islands Police Department is investigating the death of Jamie Cail, a 42-year-old former competitive swimmer from New Hampshire, who was found dead by her boyfriend after midnight on February 21st. Cail was a well-known athlete in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and had been living and working at a local coffee shop on St. John prior to her death. The Cail family has asked for privacy and requested anyone with information to contact the U.S. Virgin Islands Police Department.
