Colorado's Governor has signed four gun control bills, raising the buying age for any gun to 21 and establishing a three-day waiting period, in an attempt to reduce suicides, youth violence, and mass shootings. Republicans have decried the bills as an infringement on Second Amendment rights, while gun rights groups have filed a lawsuit to reverse two of the measures. It remains to be seen how the new laws will be implemented and if they will be successful.

Former President Donald Trump received a warm welcome from gun-rights activists at the National Rifle Association's annual meeting in Indianapolis on Friday, where he vowed to defend and expand gun-rights if he is elected in 2024. Mike Pence, who recently agreed to stop challenging a subpoena for him to testify in an investigation of Trump's actions before and during the insurrection in Washington, was met with boos. Trump promised to be a "loyal friend and fearless champion" of gun-rights if elected in 2024, in a speech seen as a way to rally support for his potential candidacy.
