A norovirus outbreak on the Caribbean Princess cruise ship has sickened 115 passengers and crew, but onboard activities continue with enhanced sanitation measures in place. The CDC and Princess Cruises are working to contain the virus as the ship completes its Caribbean voyage.

The US Department of Labor has revealed that Packers Sanitation Services (PSSI) illegally employed at least 102 minors in hazardous occupations, exposing them to dangerous conditions such as working with caustic chemicals and razor-sharp saws. As a result, PSSI was fined the maximum civil penalty of $1.5 million. The DOL has urged employers to ensure minors are not employed in hazardous occupations and has encouraged parents and guardians to be aware of their children’s work activities.
