Sen. Bob Menendez Pleads Not Guilty to Federal Corruption Charges in New York Court

Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., pleaded not guilty Wednesday to federal corruption charges in a New York court, which include bribery, conspiracy, fraud and making false statements. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has not called for Menendez to resign, and the judge approved the conditions for his release, including a $100,000 personal recognizance bond. Brian Houston, founder of the Hillsong Church, was found not guilty of concealing his father's child sex crimes by a Sydney Magistrate. The ruling was based on the belief that Houston had a reasonable excuse for not reporting the offenses to police, as the victim had indicated he did not want the abuse reported. The Hillsong Church and Houston's lawyer both expressed relief and gratitude for the ruling.
