Stationmaster Charged with Negligent Homicide in Connection with Greece’s Deadliest Train Disaster

The stationmaster of the train disaster in Larissa, Greece has been charged with negligent homicide and jailed pending trial. At least 26 people were killed and 85 injured in a tragic train collision in northern Greece on Wednesday morning. Multiple train cars derailed and at least three caught fire, with images from the scene showing smoke pouring out of toppled train cars and long lines of rescue vehicles. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis expressed his condolences and said the government would provide any necessary assistance.
