House Speaker Kevin McCarthy Faces Pressure from Two House Democrats to Limit Access of Congressman George Santos to Classified Materials

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is facing pressure from two House Democrats, Reps. Gregory Meeks and Joe Morelle of New York, to limit the access of Congressman George Santos of New York to classified materials due to "serious concerns" about his background and campaign finances which are currently under investigation. Santos, who was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018, is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and has been a vocal advocate for the rights of immigrants and refugees. McCarthy has yet to respond to the request.
