A magnitude 6.1 earthquake off western Cuba was felt across parts of Florida on Monday, including Miami, Tampa and Orlando. Officials said there were no significant injuries, major property damage or tsunami threat.

The United Nations Security Council voted to approve a multinational force to be sent to Haiti to combat extreme gang violence.
