The Manhattan District Attorney's Office has responded to a demand from House Republicans for sworn testimony on their investigation into former President Donald Trump in the Stormy Daniels hush money case. In a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan, Leslie B. Dubeck, the Manhattan DA's general counsel, called the Republicans' request an "unprecedented inquiry" and noted that it came after Trump created a false expectation that he would be arrested. Former White House counsel John O'Donnell called Jordan a "buffoon" for writing to the DA. It is unclear when the investigation will be concluded or if any charges will be brought against the former president.

House Republicans have sent a letter to the Manhattan District Attorney's office demanding documents and sworn testimony related to the potential indictment of former President Donald Trump. The letter, signed by three House Committee Chairs, accused the DA's office of preparing to "abuse prosecutorial authority" and questioned their use of federal funds and communication with the Department of Justice. The Manhattan DA's office has yet to comment on the letter or the potential indictment.
The Justice Department has denied a request from House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan for sensitive information related to an ongoing investigation into classified documents found at President Joe Biden's home and a former office. In a letter, Assistant Attorney General Elizabeth Prelogar stated that disclosing non-public information could jeopardize investigations, violate statutory requirements, and interfere with the Department's ability to conduct its investigations. However, the Department has already provided the committee with a significant amount of information related to the investigation.
