Pat Robertson, Founder of The Christian Broadcasting Network and Prominent Figure in Conservative Christian Political and Entertainment Circles, Passes Away at 93

Pat Robertson, a religious broadcaster and founder of The Christian Broadcasting Network, passed away Thursday at the age of 93. He was a former Southern Baptist minister and founded CBN in 1960, making it the first television network dedicated to Christian broadcasting in the U.S. Robertson was a prominent figure in conservative Christian political and entertainment circles, and had a lasting impact on the movement through his contributions to the Christian faith and his Christian Coalition. He also founded Regent University, the American Center for Law and Justice, and Operation Blessing.

U.S. Marshals Capture Fugitive Inmate Nasir Grant After Dramatic Escape from Philadelphia Prison

U.S. Marshals have captured 24-year-old Nasir Grant, one of two inmates who escaped from a Philadelphia prison earlier this week. Grant was taken into custody while dressed as a woman, while the other inmate, 18-year-old Ameen Hurst, remains at large. The Philadelphia Department of Prisons has launched an investigation into how the escape went unnoticed for nearly 19 hours.

Jacinda Ardern Makes Final Public Appearance, Reflects on Joy of Serving New Zealanders as Prime Minister

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced her resignation after more than five years in office. Her final act as leader was to join Education Minister Chris Hipkins at the Rātana meeting grounds, and her departure has been met with sadness from many New Zealanders. Ardern's deputy, Grant Robertson, will serve as acting Prime Minister until a new leader is chosen in a leadership election on February 18th.
