13-year-old Ella Reed from Fort Pierce, Florida, bravely fought off a shark attack in the waters off the coast, leaving her with 19 stitches and bites on her torso, arm, finger and knee. Eight Injured in Shooting at Martin Luther King Jr. Day Event in Fort Pierce, Florida

On Monday, eight people were injured in a shooting at Ilous Ellis Park in Fort Pierce, Florida during a Martin Luther King Jr. Day car show and family fun day. The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office said the shooting was the result of a disagreement between two parties, and four additional people were injured as they fled the scene. All of the victims were adults, with one in critical condition and the other seven sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. The Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
