An off-duty Alaska Airlines pilot has been charged with 83 counts of attempted murder after allegedly attempting to shut off a plane's engines midflight. The plane was diverted to Portland, Oregon due to a “credible security” threat, and the suspect was taken into custody after the plane landed safely. Four people have been arrested in connection with the alleged rape of Madison Brooks, a Louisiana State University student, who was then fatally hit by a car. Kaivon Washington, 18, and an unnamed 17-year-old juvenile have been charged with third-degree rape, while two other suspects, Casen Carver, 18, and Everett Lee, 28, have been charged with principal to third-degree rape. The four suspects are currently being held in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and the investigation is ongoing.
