A Montreal police officer, a civilian and a suspected attacker were killed Monday in a shooting in the Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood. Police warned residents to shelter in place during the operation and said a long gun was seized.

The FTC has requested that the court impose sanctions on notorious "pharma bro" Martin Shkreli for forming a new drug company in violation of a judge's ban. This order stemmed from a ruling that Shkreli oversaw an illegal scheme to maintain a monopoly on the life-saving drug Daraprim, and the FTC has asked the court to find Shkreli in civil contempt and impose a fine or other penalties. If found in contempt, Shkreli could face additional penalties.
