Wojahn has resigned from his position and is currently in custody at the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections. The City of College Park has expressed shock and disappointment at the news and is working with the police department to investigate the allegations.

Prince George's County Police Department has arrested 47-year-old Patrick Wojahn, former mayor of College Park, Maryland, on 56 counts of possession and distribution of child pornography. The investigation began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children notified the police department of a social media account distributing suspected child pornography. Wojahn, who had been mayor since 2013 and a member of the Maryland House of Delegates from 2007 to 2015, resigned from his position the same day.
