NASCAR driver Noah Gragson has been suspended indefinitely after he liked an insensitive meme with a photo of George Floyd’s face. Gragson has since apologized for his actions and Josh Berry will be replacing him in Sunday’s race. NASCAR has been taking steps to create a more inclusive environment, including a new policy that requires drivers to complete sensitivity training and prohibits them from posting offensive content on social media.

Josef Newgarden won the 2021 Indianapolis 500, ending a streak of 11 unsuccessful attempts. After a review of the running order at the time the yellow flag waved, race control moved Newgarden to second and he slingshot around reigning race winner Marcus Ericsson on the restart. Newgarden's first win in the Indianapolis 500 was a momentous occasion for him and Team Penske, who had not won since 2017.
The U.S. Treasury Department has released new rules offering up to $7,500 in tax credits for certain electric vehicle models as part of the Inflation Reduction Act. General Motors, Ford, Stellantis and Tesla are the only four automakers with electric vehicles that qualify for the full $7,500 tax credit, while some pre-owned electric vehicles are eligible for a $4,000 credit. The new tax credits are set to last until 2032 and are a great way to save money while helping the environment.
