Former President Donald Trump's legal team has requested a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) be reestablished on his South Florida property to allow him to consult with his lawyers on classified matters related to his upcoming trial. The request was made in a Wednesday filing with U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon, citing the immense practical and logistical hurdles and costs that would be involved in Trump's travel, as well as the intense media and public focus on the prosecution. The SCIF would also reduce the need for the court to provide a secure facility for Trump's lawyers to review classified evidence. The request is still pending, with no decision yet made.
