Man Who Admitted to Spraying Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick with Pepper Spray Sentenced to 80 Months in Prison

Julian Khater, who admitted to spraying U.S. Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick with pepper spray during the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol attack, was sentenced to 80 months in prison in a Washington, D.C. courtroom packed with Sicknick's colleagues and fellow officers. George Tanios pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and entering and remaining in a restricted building. Judge Thomas Hogan said that he did not know what had motivated Khater to push his way through the crowd.

Four Members of Far-Right Militia Group Oath Keepers Found Guilty of Seditious Conspiracy in Connection with Capitol Attack

A jury in Washington, DC has found four members of the far-right militia group Oath Keepers guilty of seditious conspiracy in connection with the January 6, 2021 Capitol attack. This is the second major trial of far-right extremists accused of plotting to forcibly keep President Donald Trump in power, and the four men now face up to 20 years in prison. The Justice Department has charged more than 400 people in connection with the Capitol attack, and the convictions of the Oath Keepers are seen as a major victory in their efforts to hold those responsible accountable.

White House Counsel’s Office Responds to House Republicans’ Demand for Information on Misplaced Biden Documents

House Republicans have requested information from the White House related to misplaced classified documents from Joe Biden's time in office, including visitor logs to his private residence. The White House counsel's office responded by noting that it isn't standard practice to keep visitor logs for presidents' personal homes, and that President Biden has restored the norm of keeping White House visitors logs. The White House has yet to comment on the House Republicans' demands and the situation is ongoing.
