Tennessee Man Sentenced to Over Six Years in Prison for Involvement in Capitol Riot

Joseph Padilla, a disabled Army veteran and former prison corrections officer, was sentenced to 78 months in prison for his involvement in the January 6th Capitol riot. He was convicted of assault with a dangerous weapon, obstruction of Congress and other charges. The Justice Department has charged more than 400 people in connection with the riot, and more than 250 have been convicted.

Teen Arrested in Connection with Fatal Hit-and-Run Collisions in Huntington Beach

A teenage driver was arrested Wednesday in connection with a series of hit-and-run collisions in Huntington Beach, California that resulted in the death of one cyclist. Police believe the driver intentionally targeted the cyclists, and are continuing to investigate the incident. The suspect is currently being held on suspicion of murder.

Hurricane Watch Issued for Parts of the Northeast US and Canada, Storm Surge Watch for Cape Cod Bay and Nantucket

A hurricane watch has been issued for parts of the northeast United States and Canada, stretching from Stonington, Maine to the U.S.-Canadian border. A tropical storm watch has also been issued for parts of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Rhode Island, Maine and Massachusetts, including Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. The hurricane is expected to bring heavy rainfall and coastal flooding to the region on Friday night and Saturday, with the potential for life-threatening flooding late Friday and Saturday.
