US HIV Infection Rate Continues to Slow, CDC Report Shows

South Carolina Mother Arrested for Allegedly Killing 6-Year-Old Daughter and Attempting to Kill 8-Year-Old Daughter

South Carolina mother Jamie Bradley Brun has been arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder after allegedly killing her 6-year-old daughter and attempting to kill her 8-year-old daughter. The 16-year-old daughter of Brun was able to save her 8-year-old sister from the attempted drowning. Brun is currently being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center and her 8-year-old daughter is being treated for her injuries.

Autopsy Reveals Lashawn Thompson Was a Victim of Severe Neglect in Fulton County Jail

A private autopsy has revealed that Lashawn Thompson, a 35-year-old man who died in a bedbug-infested cell in the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia, suffered from severe neglect, including dehydration, malnourishment, and rapid weight loss. The autopsy found that these conditions contributed to his fatal cardiac arrhythmia, and the family's lawyers are calling for an investigation into the conditions of the jail and the circumstances surrounding Thompson's death. The Fulton County Jail has yet to comment on the autopsy report.
