On Wednesday, a shooting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas left multiple victims and the suspect dead. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill reported at least three victims, but the number could change. The city of Las Vegas is in shock and the police department is continuing to investigate the incident.

The U.S. Justice Department has charged four Russian nationals with war crimes in connection with the invasion of Ukraine, including unlawful confinement, torture and inhuman treatment, as well as one count of conspiracy to commit war crimes. The defendants have been identified and the victim is an American, but no additional information has been released. The case is yet to go to trial and the potential penalties for the defendants are unknown.
A US citizen has been arrested in Arizona for allegedly inciting a religiously motivated terrorist attack in Australia that left six people dead. The attack saw three people, including two officers, killed when police were ambushed at a rural property last year. The man has been charged with inciting the attack and is currently in custody, with further details expected to be released in the coming days.
Six people were killed and three injured in a multi-city shooting spree across Texas on Tuesday, before the suspect was taken into custody and charged with capital murder. Interim Austin Police Chief Robin Henderson said the incident began in the morning and extended into the evening, with four people killed and two police officers shot in Austin. The suspect was also linked to the deaths of two people in San Antonio and is currently in police custody. The victims of the shooting spree have not yet been identified.
Joseph David Emerson, 44, has been indicted on 84 charges in Portland, Oregon, including 83 misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person and one felony count of first-degree endangering aircraft. The incident occurred on October 19th when Emerson, a former Alaska Airlines pilot, allegedly attempted to shut off the engines of a Horizon Air flight while under the influence of "magic mushrooms" and struggling with depression and lack of sleep. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on the 84 endangerment charges.
Special Counsel Jack Smith's office has revealed an alleged attempt by a Trump campaign employee to obstruct the 2020 vote count in Michigan, including evidence of Trump's long history of calling election results "fraud" and his vocal support for the Jan. 6 rioters. The nine-page filing alleges that the campaign staffer sought to create a "mini-Brooks Brothers riot" or a "mini-Jan. 6" at the counting facility in Detroit, Michigan, and prosecutors said that they want to focus on Trump's long history of calling election results "fraud". The filing is the latest in a series of legal actions taken against Trump and his campaign for their alleged attempts to interfere with the 2020 election.
A lawsuit has been filed against Panera Bread after its Charged Lemonade was linked to the death of a second person, 46-year-old Dennis Brown of Florida. Brown had a chromosomal deficiency disorder and did not consume energy drinks. The suit claims that Brown unknowingly consumed high levels of caffeine from the drinks, and is the second lawsuit against Panera in connection with its Charged Lemonade. Panera has yet to comment on the lawsuit.
On Monday, Durham Regional Police responded to an unusual call of a kangaroo hopping around Oshawa. Officers were instructed on the safest way to capture the kangaroo, which they did successfully, although the kangaroo punched an officer in the face before being subdued. The kangaroo is now in the custody of a local zoo, and the police reminded the public to be aware of their surroundings and to report any unusual sightings.
