The firm had sought $2 million in damages, but the judge ultimately ruled in favor of the firm's original claim. Bannon has yet to comment on the ruling and it is unclear if he plans to appeal the decision.
James Lewis, the prime suspect in the 1982 Tylenol murders, was found dead in his Cambridge, Massachusetts home on Sunday. Lewis had served more than 12 years in prison for an extortion letter demanding $1 million from Johnson & Johnson and its subsidiary, the maker of Tylenol. His death marks the end of a 38-year investigation into the Tylenol murders, which remain unsolved and the motive behind them a mystery.
Henry Brooks, 46, of Hope, Maine tragically drowned while attempting to rescue his two daughters from Seven Tree Pond. His 27-year-old son followed him into the water with a life jacket, and was able to help the daughters back to a shallow area of the pond. The Maine Warden Service responded to the scene and recovered Brooks' body, and the two daughters were taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries. The Maine Warden Service is currently investigating the incident.
Vermont State Police are warning residents to stay home due to dangerous storms and flooding in the Hudson Valley of New York, which has already claimed the life of one woman. Emergency crews have been called to conduct rescues and more than 500 National Guard members have been deployed to assist. The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for much of the Northeast U.S. and State Police are urging people to take the necessary precautions and to never drive or walk through floodwaters.
Disgraced sports doctor Larry Nassar was stabbed multiple times during an altercation with another inmate at a United States Penitentiary Coleman in Florida on Sunday. He is currently in stable condition, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons has not commented on the incident. It is unknown what led to the altercation or if the other inmate involved has been identified or charged. Nassar was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison in 2018 for criminal sexual conduct and 60 years for child pornography charges.
