The hearing will focus on constitutional and legal questions surrounding the President’s involvement in corruption and abuse of public office, and will feature testimony from legal experts about possible criminality based on the evidence collected. The committee has also announced plans to issue subpoenas for bank records from two of the president's family members, Hunter Biden and James Biden, the president's son and brother respectively.

A Moscow court has declined to consider an appeal by U.S. reporter Evan Gershkovich against his pre-trial detention, sending the case back to a lower court due to procedural violations. Gershkovich, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, was arrested on March 29 on espionage charges and has failed in two previous appeals. His lawyer will now appeal the decision to the Moscow City Court and the European Court of Human Rights.
Police in Romeoville, IL are investigating a quadruple homicide in a suburban Chicago home. Two adults and two children were found fatally shot, as well as three dogs. The Romeoville Police Department is not investigating the incident as a murder-suicide and are searching for the killer. Neighbors of the family are shocked by the news and the police department is asking anyone with information to contact them.
Richard Allen, a northern Indiana man charged with killing two teenage girls, has had his attorneys file court documents claiming his innocence and that the girls were actually killed as part of a ritual sacrifice. The attorneys have requested a hearing to present evidence that the search warrant for Allen's house was based on faulty probable cause and should be thrown out. Allen has pleaded not guilty to all charges and his attorneys are hoping the court will grant them a hearing to present their evidence and throw out the search warrant.

The United Auto Workers (UAW) union has announced a deadline of noon on September 22nd for negotiations with the "Big Three" Detroit automakers, Ford Motor, General Motors and Stellantis. Rudy Giuliani, former attorney to President Donald Trump, is being sued for allegedly failing to pay more than $1.36 million in legal fees to the law firm of Costello and Associates. The firm claims to have provided legal services to Giuliani since 2019, including representation in election interference cases and during criminal investigations, and has only been paid $150,000 of the $1.5 million billed.
