On Tuesday, Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods announced that the shooting deaths of two 16-year-old girls and a 17-year-old boy may be linked to a “hybrid” or “wannabe gang” in Florida.

The first victim, 16-year-old Layla Silvernail, was found Thursday night suffering from a gunshot wound on the side of the road in Ocklawaha, about 60 miles northwest of Orlando. The next morning, a 17-year-old male’s body was discovered beside the road a few miles from where Silvernail’s body was found.

On Saturday, deputies responded to a report that Silvernail’s vehicle had been found partially submerged in a body of water. Later that day, the third victim, another 16-year-old girl, was found dead.

Sheriff Woods said the three shootings are all connected and are being investigated as a possible gang-related incident. He said the investigation is ongoing and that no suspects have been identified.

The deaths of these three teenagers have shocked the community and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. Sheriff Woods said that they are committed to finding justice for the victims and their families.
