On Saturday, police located the body of 10-month-old Zeke Best in an embankment off the road, 24 miles east of Idaho Falls. The discovery was made after a hunter called to report a man in a sleeping bag on the side of the road.

The man was identified as Jeremy Albert Best, and was wanted in connection with an Amber Alert issued the day before on suspicion of kidnapping the child in Teton County. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office said that Best was taken into custody on an arrest warrant issued in connection with the death of his wife.

The Amber Alert was issued on Friday after the baby was reported missing. The alert asked for the public’s help in locating the baby and his father, who was believed to be driving a white Ford Focus with Idaho license plates.

The death of Zeke Best is a tragedy, and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The office has asked anyone with information to contact them.
