Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has indicated that he would consider appointing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to a position in his administration should he win the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. DeSantis made the comments on Wednesday during an appearance on the popular “OutKick” podcast.

DeSantis said he and Kennedy were in agreement on many medical issues, including their criticism of Dr. Anthony Fauci, the government’s top infectious disease expert. He also said he agreed with Kennedy on the “corruption in the health bureaucracies.”

When asked if he would consider Kennedy as a running mate, DeSantis said Kennedy would be out of step with much of the GOP base on some issues, such as climate change. He added that he probably wouldn’t choose Kennedy, who is running for president as a Democrat challenging incumbent Joe Biden.

DeSantis has been attempting to “reboot” his campaign for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. Kennedy, meanwhile, is a prominent anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist. It is unclear if DeSantis would consider him for a position with the Food and Drug Administration or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The governor has yet to comment further on the possibility of appointing Kennedy to a position in his administration.
