Walt Nauta, an aide to former President Donald Trump, was scheduled to appear in Miami federal court on Tuesday for his arraignment on federal criminal charges in connection with the alleged mishandling of classified documents. However, Nauta was unable to make the court appearance due to a canceled flight from Newark, New Jersey.

Nauta’s attorney, Stan Woodward, told Magistrate Judge Edwin G. Torres that his client had been unable to find a Florida-based attorney and was stuck in Newark, unable to fly down for the arraignment. As a result, the arraignment was postponed until July 6.

Nauta was charged earlier this month alongside Trump in a 38-count indictment filed by the Justice Department. The charges stem from an alleged scheme to hide classified documents from the government.

The indictment alleges that Nauta, along with other aides, helped Trump hide the documents from the government. Nauta is facing charges of obstruction of justice, conspiracy to obstruct justice, and false statements.

Nauta’s arraignment has been postponed until July 6, when he will appear in Miami federal court. It is unclear if Trump will be present at the arraignment.
