Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled its new streaming service, Max, on Wednesday, combining HBO Max and Discovery+ into one platform. The service, which will launch on May 23, will offer a wide variety of scripted dramas and unscripted staples from both brands.

At a press event in Burbank, California, Discovery CEO David Zaslav said that Max is “the one to watch,” referencing the service’s tagline, “because we have so many of the world’s iconic and globally recognized franchises.” He added that Max is “streaming’s version of must-see TV.”

Max will include scripted dramas like HBO’s “Succession,” “White Lotus” and “House of the Dragon,” as well as unscripted staples from Discovery such as cooking, home improvement and survival shows. It will also feature programming from other Warner Bros. Discovery brands, including Warner Bros., HBO, HGTV, Food Network, Cartoon Network, and TLC.

The launch of Max is part of Warner Bros. Discovery’s effort to compete in the streaming marketplace as traditional linear television continues to decline. With its wide selection of content, Max is sure to be a hit with viewers looking for a wide range of entertainment options.
