A tragic plane crash in Nevada on Friday evening has left five people dead, including medical personnel and a patient.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said that the crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. local time, when multiple calls were received about a possible aircraft crash in Stagecoach. After two hours of searching, the wreckage was located.

The five people on board were a pilot, a flight nurse, a flight paramedic, a patient, and a patient’s family member. All five were confirmed dead by the Central Lyon County Fire Department.

The fixed wing aircraft was operated by Care Flight, a critical care transport service. The company released a statement expressing their sadness at the news.

“We are heartbroken to report that we have now received confirmation from Central Lyon County Fire Department that none of the five people on board survived,” the statement read.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has asked anyone with information to contact them.
