Police in southern Oregon are searching for Benjamin Obadiah Foster, 36, who is wanted in connection with an attempted murder, kidnapping, and assault.

The incident occurred less than two years after Foster was convicted in Nevada of keeping another woman in captivity for weeks before the victim managed to escape.

Grants Pass Police Chief Warren Hensman expressed his concern in a telephone interview, saying that he finds it “extremely troubling” that the felon is wanted in an attempted murder instead of still being behind bars for the Nevada crimes.

According to Josephine County District Attorney Joshua Eastman, Foster tried to kill the victim in Grants Pass while “intentionally torturing” her and secretly confining her “in a place where she was not likely to be found.”

The Grants Pass Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating Foster, who is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, and weighing approximately 200 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Grants Pass Police Department at 541-476-6256.
