Fox News foreign correspondent Benjamin Hall returned to the airwaves Thursday to recount the harrowing experience of being injured in a Russian bomb blast in Ukraine last year.

Hall, who was hospitalized after the March 2022 attack in Kyiv, was joined by two of his colleagues, cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski and Ukrainian journalist Oleksandra Kuvshynova, who were both killed in the blast.

Speaking on Fox & Friends, Hall described the moment of the explosion, saying “everything went dark”. He also read an excerpt from his upcoming memoir, in which he recalled hearing what he believed to be his young daughters urging him to “get out of the car” he was inside.

Hall said that he and Zakrzewski talked to each other as they lay wounded, and that conversation helped give him strength to keep going. He was able to crawl out of the vehicle just before it was struck by a third projectile.

“The two of us laid there for about 40 minutes, and talked,” Hall said. “He said he was ‘all but dead’ before hearing his daughters’ voices, and that conversation gave him the strength to keep going.”

Hall’s story is a powerful reminder of the courage and resilience of those who risk their lives to report from dangerous places. His upcoming memoir will provide a firsthand account of the tragedy and its aftermath.
