Vladimir Putin announced a "special military operation" in eastern Ukraine in February 2022, leading to many Ukrainians seeking refuge in the western Ternopil region. One of these refugees was Oleksandra Povoroznyk, a 28-year-old journalist and translator. Despite the danger, Oleksandra and her family have chosen to stay in Ukraine, and the international community must continue to support them in their fight against Russian aggression.
