On Monday, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Ukrainian forces had fired rockets at a facility in the eastern Donetsk region, killing 63 Russian soldiers. The attack is one of the deadliest on the Kremlin’s forces since the war began more than 10 months ago.

The ministry stated that Ukrainian forces had fired six rockets from a HIMARS launch system, two of which were shot down. The precision weapon, supplied by the United States, has been a key factor in the Ukrainian counteroffensive.

The governor of Russia’s Samara region, Dmitry Azarov, reported that an unspecified number of residents of the region had been injured in the attack. He also noted that the attack had caused significant damage to the facility.

The Ukrainian government has yet to comment on the attack. However, the Ukrainian military has been engaged in a conflict with Russian-backed separatists in the region since 2014. The conflict has caused thousands of casualties and displaced millions of people.

The attack is the latest in a series of escalations between the two countries, and the international community is monitoring the situation closely. It remains to be seen how the Ukrainian government will respond to the attack and how the conflict will develop in the coming days.
