Ukrainian forces successfully shot down 45 Iranian-made Shahed drones overnight in response to Russia's relentless attacks over the weekend. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky praised the efforts of Ukrainian forces in his first address of the year and thanked those fighting at the frontline and restoring infrastructure damaged by Russian strikes. Three civilians were killed in the attacks on New Year's Eve.
