Twelve Democratic-led states have filed a lawsuit in federal court to challenge restrictions on the abortion pill mifepristone, which is used in over half of U.S. abortions. An anti-abortion group in Texas has also filed a lawsuit seeking to restrict access to the drug, leading the Biden administration to prepare for a worst-case scenario. The lawsuit filed by the twelve Democratic-led states aims to ensure that mifepristone and misoprostol remain available to women who need them.

At least three people were killed in a shooting in Yakima, Washington early Tuesday morning, and the suspect remains at large. Yakima Police Chief Matthew Murray reported that the suspect shot two people at a Circle K convenience store, and may have shot a fourth person before fleeing the scene. The Yakima Police Department is currently working on “strong leads” to identify the suspect and is asking anyone with information to contact them.
