Domingo Germán Joins Elite Yankees Club with Perfect Game Against Oakland Athletics

Domingo Germán of the New York Yankees has pitched the 24th perfect game in major league history, joining Don Larsen, David Wells, and David Cone as the only Yankees pitchers to do so. This was the first perfect game since Seattle Mariners ace Felix Hernandez pitched one in 2012 and the first time Germán pitched an entire game in his Yankee career. The Yankees celebrated the historic feat with a standing ovation for Germán, who was visibly emotional after the final out.

NBC Sports California Terminates Glen Kuiper Following Internal Review After On-Air Racial Slur Incident

Glen Kuiper, the primary play-by-play broadcaster for the Oakland Athletics, has been terminated by NBC Sports California following an internal review triggered by Kuiper's use of a racial slur on air. Kuiper had been with the A's since 1995 and was the longest-tenured broadcaster in the team's history. The network thanked Kuiper for his dedication to Bay Area baseball over the years and it is unclear who will replace him.

Oakland Athletics Take Major Step Forward in Plan to Build New Stadium in Las Vegas

The Oakland Athletics have taken a major step forward in their plan to build a new stadium in Las Vegas, with team president Dave Kaval announcing the purchase of a 49-acre site near the Las Vegas Strip. The stadium will have a seating capacity of 30,000 to 35,000 and will feature a retractable roof, and the A's will now work with Nevada and Clark County on a public-private partnership to fund the project. The team is excited to move forward and make their dream of a major league ballpark in Las Vegas a reality.
