Manhunt for Monterey Park Dance Studio Shooter Ends with Arrest of 72-Year-Old Suspect

A 12-hour manhunt for a gunman who killed 11 people and injured almost as many at a Monterey Park, California dance studio Saturday night ended with the arrest of 72-year-old Huu Can Tran. Brandon Tsay, who confronted the suspect in the lobby of a dance hall run by his family, was praised for his heroic actions by Sheriff Robert Luna. Monterey Park Police Chief Scott Wiese described the scene as "chaos and extensive carnage" when officers arrived, and the motive behind the attack is still under investigation.

Brandon Tsay, the owner of the Lai Lai Ballroom & Studio in Alhambra, was hosting a social dance party when he saw a man walk in with a gun. Tsay lunged at the man, not knowing that he had already killed 10 people and wounded 10 others. Tsay was able to successfully wrestle away the weapon and prevent any further casualties, and is being celebrated as a hero for his brave actions.
