Person of Interest Detained in Fatal Shooting of Los Angeles County Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has detained a person of interest in the fatal shooting of Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer, a six-year veteran of the department who is survived by his wife and two children. Sheriff Robert Luna will provide more details of the case at a news conference scheduled for 10:30 a.m. PDT (1:30 p.m. ET), and the department is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects.

LASD Investigates Shooting Death of Bishop David O’Connell as Homicide

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is investigating the shooting death of Bishop David O'Connell, a longtime Catholic priest, as a homicide. O'Connell, 69, was found with a gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene in Los Angeles on Saturday. The religious community has been stunned by the death of O'Connell, who was hailed as a "peacemaker", and detectives are currently investigating the death. The Sheriff's Department is asking anyone with information to contact the Homicide Bureau or leave an anonymous tip.
