San Diego State Aztecs Make History as First No. 5 Seed to Reach Elite Eight in NCAA Tournament

San Diego State University's men's basketball team made history on Friday night, becoming the first No. 5 seed to reach the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. Led by guard Darrion Trammell's 21 points and five rebounds, the Aztecs defeated the top-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide 71-64 in the Sweet 16. This marks the first time in NCAA men's basketball tournament history that all four No. 1 seeds have failed to reach the Elite Eight. The Aztecs, led by head coach Brian Dutcher, will now face either Creighton or Princeton on Sunday in the West Region final as they seek their first Final Four in program history.
