Joseph Fisher, a former Boston Police K-9 officer, was arrested on Thursday by the FBI and charged with a litany of offenses, including assaulting a law enforcement officer, in connection with the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Fisher allegedly pushed a chair into an officer chasing a rioter who had used a chemical irritant on police. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison.

President Joe Biden will honor 12 artists and groups with the 2021 National Medal of Arts and National Humanities Medals at a White House ceremony on Tuesday. Riley Clark, the 23-year-old daughter of U.S. Rep. Katherine Clark of Massachusetts, was arrested during a protest in downtown Boston on Saturday night and charged with assault after a police officer was injured. The Boston Police Department said she was observed defacing a monument with spray paint and a group of protesters surrounded officers while screaming profanities. Rep. Clark tweeted about her daughter's arrest, and Riley is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
