NOAA Announces End of La Niña, Neutral Conditions Expected Through Early Summer in Northern Hemisphere

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has announced that La Niña, a weather pattern that increases hurricane activity and worsens western drought, has officially ended, with neutral conditions now in place. This is the first time since September 2020 that neutral conditions have been in place, and they are expected to continue through early summer in the Northern Hemisphere. El Niño is also expected to increase the chance for early spring conditions across the southern U.S.

INTERPOL and Italian and French Authorities Team Up to Arrest Convicted Murderer Edgardo Greco After 16 Years on the Run

After 16 years on the run, Italian fugitive and convicted murderer Edgardo Greco was arrested this week in Saint-Etienne, France. He had been working under the alias Paolo Dimitrio and was convicted in absentia in 1991 for the double homicide of brothers Stefano and Giuseppe Bartolomeo. The arrest was made after a coordinated effort between Italian and French authorities, and is the latest mobster to be apprehended by Italian anti-Mafia police. Greco is currently being held in France and is awaiting extradition to Italy, where he is expected to face trial for his crimes.

EU and US Respond to Russia’s “War Against NATO and the West” by Supplying Military Equipment to Ukraine

The situation in Ukraine has become increasingly tense, with the EU accusing Russia of taking its war against Ukraine to a "different stage" by targeting civilians and non-military targets. In response, Germany and the United States have decided to supply military equipment to Ukraine in order to help the country better defend itself, while the EU is calling for a diplomatic solution to the conflict and urging Russia to de-escalate the situation.
