Four people have died in Kentucky after thunderstorms triggered flash floods and water rescues across the state. Gov. Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency and urged residents to avoid driving, especially after dark.

One person was killed and 22 others were injured when a large tent collapsed during severe weather at EastLake Community Church in Moneta, Virginia. Officials said the tent had passed inspection and was properly secured before strong winds moved through the area.
