Russian missiles and drones struck Kyiv overnight, killing at least eight people and injuring dozens. The attack came hours after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned Moscow was preparing a “massive” strike.
Russian-backed authorities in occupied Crimea halted public fuel sales after Ukrainian drone strikes hit oil facilities in Kerch and Russia’s Krasnodar region. Officials said at least five people were killed across the attacks.
Russian strikes killed civilians in Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Sumy as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned of a possible “massive attack.” Both Ukraine and Russia also reported major overnight drone activity, including a Ukrainian strike attempt on a refinery in western Siberia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky returned Poland’s highest honor after Polish President Karol Nawrocki moved to strip him of it over Kyiv’s naming of a military unit after the UPA. Both sides said the dispute would not end Poland’s support for Ukraine against Russia.
Ukraine struck a major Moscow oil refinery in one of its largest drone attacks on the Russian capital, disrupting flights and sending smoke over the city. Zelenskyy called the strikes a justified response to Russian attacks on Ukraine as both sides reported overnight barrages.
