Wisconsin Judge Rules to Resume Abortion Care Services, Reaffirming the Need to Protect Reproductive Rights

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin will resume abortion care services next week after a judge ruled that a centuries-old state law does not apply to abortions. Meagan Wolfe, administrator of the Wisconsin Elections Commission, is expected to stay in her post despite Republicans voting to fire her, a lingering outgrowth of Donald Trump's 2020 big lie campaign. Planned Parenthood's President and CEO, Tanya Atkinson, said their priority is patients and the community, and they are eager to provide essential care to people in the state.

Iowa Judge Temporarily Blocks Six-Week Abortion Ban, Recognizing Respect for Both Sides of the Issue

A contentious abortion law in Iowa has been temporarily blocked by Judge Joseph Seidlin, pending the court's final adjudication on the matter. The Assistant Attorney General argued for a lower standard for assessing abortion restrictions, but the court chose to follow current Iowa Supreme Court precedent and preserve the status quo. The temporary injunction will remain in place until the court's final ruling, which is yet to be determined.
