A heat dome is forecast to bring dangerous temperatures to much of the Midwest, East and Mid-Atlantic over the July Fourth weekend. More than 100 million people are under extreme heat warnings, with heat indices in some areas expected to reach 105 to 115 degrees.

Tornadoes and severe storms swept through the Midwest, killing at least one person in Iowa and causing heavy damage in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. The storms knocked out power to hundreds of thousands and disrupted flights across several major cities.
Severe storms are threatening millions across the central U.S. this week with flash flooding, destructive hail, damaging winds and possible tornadoes. Flood watches remain in effect in several states as forecasters also warn of dangerous heat from Minnesota to Texas.
