Tragedy Strikes on Birthday as Abducted Woman is Killed in Shootout with Suspect in Northern Virginia

On Wednesday night, tragedy struck when Tatiana David, 34, of Ithaca, New York, was abducted on her birthday and shot and killed in Northern Virginia following a shootout between her alleged kidnapper and police. Virginia State Police spotted a Jeep Cherokee with the wrong license plates and when they approached, the driver began shooting at them. The Jeep crashed into the woods and Tatiana David died at the scene while the driver was taken to the hospital. Michael C. Davis, 34, of Virginia, is the suspect and father of Tatiana David's 4-year-old child.
