Russian Forces Shell Ukrainian Cities, Causing One Person to be Wounded and One Killed in Dnipropetrovsk Region

Two former fighters of the Russian private military company Wagner have spoken to CNN about their experiences on the battlefield in eastern Ukraine, where they described horrific losses in “first wave” assaults reminiscent of World War I. Ukrainian forces have responded to the shelling with counterattacks, and have managed to down five drones and capture two former Wagner fighters. Despite the shelling, officials in Kyiv said that Moscow is having trouble launching its large-scale offensive in the east of the country.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Visits U.K. in Search of Advanced Weapons to Combat Russian Invasion

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has traveled to the U.K. in a bid for more advanced weapons to help in Kyiv's fight against the Russian forces. Upon his arrival, he was invited to sit in an armchair used by Winston Churchill, remarking that he felt the "feeling of how bravery takes you through the most unimaginable hardships to finally reward you with victory". He is now holding talks with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at Downing Street, with the outcome of the talks yet to be seen.

CIA Director Warns of Potential Chinese Invasion of Taiwan by 2027

CIA Director William Burns has warned that Chinese President Xi Jinping has instructed the Chinese army to be ready for a potential invasion of Taiwan by 2027. US officials have reported that the Chinese are using surveillance balloons powered by a solar array, and have raised their concerns with Beijing about it. The US government is closely monitoring the situation and is prepared to take action if necessary.

Police Charge Bryan Kohberger with Murders of Four College Students in Moscow, Idaho

Four college students were found dead in an off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho, on Tuesday, and police have now charged Bryan Kohberger with the murders. A search warrant has revealed that police gathered a significant amount of blood evidence from the victims, as well as a reddish-brown stained pillowcase, hair strands, and a nitrite-type black glove from Kohberger's apartment. Additionally, an animal hair was found during the search of Kohberger's apartment, which could be used to help build the case against him.

At least nine people were killed and 64 wounded in a Russian missile strike in Dnipro, Ukraine on Saturday. The attack was part of a series of attacks across Ukraine, with 26 people still trapped in the rubble. The Ukrainian military has accused Russia of launching a “large-scale offensive” against the country, and the United Nations Security Council is expected to discuss the situation on Monday.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak Pledges Support to Ukraine with Tanks and Artillery Systems in Response to Russian Aggression

U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has promised to provide tanks and artillery systems to Ukraine in response to renewed missile attacks by Moscow targeting multiple Ukrainian cities. Ten people were wounded, including two children, in the southeastern city of Dnipro, prompting a response from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The U.K. has pledged support to Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression, but has not yet provided a timeline for when the tanks and artillery systems will be delivered.
